First up, The Wolfman. I was kind of excited when I heard this was being remade, but at the same time, I was terrified. This movie is a classic, and therefore easily ruined. My excitement grew when I heard the cast. Benicio Del Torro, Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt, and Hugo Weaving. All in one movie. I know, exciting. Today we get the first trailer for this film. My thoughts? Could be great. Could be really, really great. Or it could suck. My biggest fear right now is that this will go the way of Van Helsing. You know - good intentions, great cast, Epic Fail. Still, how freaking awesome is this trailer? Those CGI transformations are sick (and I mean this in that they are both awesome and actually disgusting). For now, I'm excited. I don't for the life of me understand why it's being released in February. I would think it would due better being released around Halloween, but whatever.
Next, Avatar. I don't know about you, but I've been pumped for this thing since it was announced. It's James Cameron. The man who gave us Terminator. Forget Titantic. The man's first movie was science fiction, and he's finally returning to that genre. Cameron is just having fun with this movie. This trailer actually makes me excited to see a movie in 3D (for the record, I've yet to see a film in 3D where I thought the 3D helped, not hindered it, although Up was passable). And it has Sam Worthington. You remember, that guy from Terminator: Salvation. I know he was crap in it, but everyone was crap in that film except Anton Yelchin. I would, however, like to point out that Cameron suggested McG cast Worthington after Cameron worked with him on Avatar, so obviously Cameron likes the guy's work in Avatar. And regardless of his acting talents, he's still nice to look at. Although, the avatar's are dazzling. I'll see this just for the computer animation. Oh, and by the way, this thing took four years to make. It will rule!
Also, the popular rumor on the net is that we'll be getting the first trailer for Christopher Nolan's Inception this weekend. Keep your fingers crossed!
