First up, Did You Hear About The Morgans? This movie is this years holiday romantic movie. Yeah, I only see them if my extended family drags me to them during holiday reunions. I'm sure Katie will argue with me, but they rarely are good (see last year's Four Christmases for proof). Anyways, this one has Hugh Grant, who never fails to draw a large group of female followers. But...is it just me, or does pairing him with Sarah Jessica Parker seem...weird, odd, no chemistry whatsoever?
The question with movies like Legion is where to start. On the one hand, Paul Bettany and Kevin Durand. Together. In an action movie. Big win. On the other....biblical horror/action movies are either just plain awful (The Order, The Reaping) or highly entertaining but by no means great films (Constantine). So, with this one, I guess we'll have to wait and see. I'll probably see it, because of Kevin Durand and Paul Bettany. Also, I saw the restricted trailer before the one I've posted here. The restricted trailer is better, but I currently can't find a working link for it.
As for Whiteout, I hate to say it, but stupid plot, stupid setting, no redeeming fact whatsoever. Except for Kate Beckinsale of course. I could go on, but Katie's better at praising Kate than me.
After watching Heavenly Creatures and reading The Lovely Bones, it makes perfect sense that Peter Jackson would turn this into a movie. Fortunately, he's apparently moved past the creepy claymation. Otherwise...it's Peter Jackson. I sat through the creepy bug scene in King Kong for my loyalty to this man. I'll do the same here. Hopefully some of the weirder moments from the book will get cut. Although I won't lie, I'm really excited that Marky Mark is in this one.
Finally, Law Abiding Citizen. At this point I'm willing to sit through pretty much anything for Gerard Butler. I can't help it. I'm a woman. I sat through the unspeakably awful The Ugly Truth. I'll probably sit through, and secretly enjoy while I mock it, Gamer. But Law Abiding Citizen not only has Gerard Butler, but Jamie Foxx. And Gerard Butler plays a psychopath who kills people. Win.

Thank you for filling the void of nothingness that is my Sunday night.
ReplyDeleteOk... watched them all. Including When in Rome.
ReplyDeleteW.i.R: ok... I like the people in it... that's about it... kinda like my reasoning behind seeing The Proposal.
Morgans: ...
Legion: I will love it. And we all know I have no taste in movies, so judge there.
Whiteout: Waste of trailer space before GIJoe.
Lonely Bones: I liked it up till the suspense part. Mehbeh I should read the book?
Butler: AWESOME! Though I hope it isn't too Vantage Point/Shooter-esk.
Don't you love my responses that really don't matter at all?
